Ford Rebuilds Dearborn Plant for F-150 Production

When you rebuild a truck from the ground up, there's a lot more that goes into the process than the already intense development and research. To build the aluminum-bodied Ford F-150, a truck that is already changing the half-ton pickup game, the Blue Oval undertook a radical redesign of their Dearborn Truck Plant, as well.

Today, we're going to show you just what went into that overhaul. To make sure as many F-150s could be produced after the retooling as possible, Ford set out on a tight schedule to rip out all the old machinery and put in the new in just eleven weeks. The result: one of the most state-of-the-art facilities in the world, and the home of America's bestselling half-tonner.
